Arnolda Morinaj

Introducing Arnolda, one of Fresenius Kabi's Pharmacists.

To continue our support for International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Arnolda has shared why she went into a STEM career, what she enjoys most about her role at Fresenius Kabi and how her mum inspires her.

Why did you choose a career in science?

I must be honest; I wish I could have a more inspirational answer, but the truth is that I have always loved scientific subjects in school.

The real question for me is? What kept me going during the years? I would say the desire to make a positive impact on people's lives and well-being.

Have you worked in other areas of Pharmacy?

My first experience as a pharmacist was as a community pharmacist in Italy, where I am from.

After moving to the UK, I initially worked in a hospital before transitioning to my current role at Fresenius Kabi.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy being a pharmacist at Fresenius Kabi because I believe in its values.

I work with a vast array of professionals with different backgrounds. This diversity results in a wide range of perspectives, skills and expertise to achieve a common goal which is patient care.

Helen Stockdale

Helen went into a STEM career in Pharmacy later in life. Read more to learn about Helen's career and advice to any women or girls looking to start a STEM career.

Why did you choose a career in science?

I have always had a keen interest in science, but I only went into pharmacy later in life. I have been completing my level 3 technician course, then my accredited checking technician (ACT) course and alongside my work, I have completed a part-time online degree, BSc in Combined STEM and I have just started studying for my Master's in genomic medicine online with Exeter University.

What do enjoy most about your job?

At Fresenius Kabi, I have been given the opportunity to train in a variety of roles within the pharmacy team and collaborate across different teams, allowing me to develop many different skills - ever day brings new challenges.

The strong ethic and company culture rewards hard work, but never loses focus that the patient is the most important person.

What career advice would you give to other women/girls interested in or working in the field of science?

...to be just true to yourself, trust your instincts, work hard and never lose the thirst to learn.
