A Guide for Catering to Support Residents with Dysphagia

Studies suggest that between 50% and 75% of nursing home residents have some difficulty swallowing1 and furthermore, that 55% of older people with dysphagia are at risk of malnutrition2. Dysphagia is a condition that should be carefully managed by nursing home caregivers on a daily basis. At Fresenius Kabi, we pride ourselves on being specialists in the nutritional management of dysphagia and providing not only a comprehensive range of powdered food and drink, thickeners and oral nutritional supplements but also a suite of practical resources to help your team to successfully manage your residents’ dysphagia.
