Fresenius Kabi Receives 2024 Trailblazer Award From Premier Inc. For Supply Chain Innovation

Fresenius Kabi, an operating company of Fresenius, has received the 2024 Trailblazer Award from Premier Inc., a leading technology-driven health care improvement company. Premier members comprise approximately 4,350 U.S. hospitals, health systems and more than 300,000 other providers and organizations in health care.
FRESENIUS KABI RECEIVES 2024 TRAILBLAZER AWARD

Fresenius Kabi specializes in injectable medicines, biosimilars, and technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition. The company won the Trailblazer Award in Premier’s GPO, or group purchasing organization, category. Premier cited Fresenius Kabi’s exceptional partnership and investments in U.S. manufacturing and supply chain resiliency.

The Trailblazer award recognizes a Premier Inc. national contracted supplier that uses or deploys innovative and scalable methods and technology to accelerate clinical evidence into real-world practice.

Selection criteria include:

  • Participation in forward-thinking projects/research studies
  • Innovation
  • Proven impact on outcomes
  • Scalability in the health care setting
  • Technology utilization
  • Ability to close gaps in care and advance health equity

Fresenius Kabi was recognized for its efforts in supply chain innovation. During its multi-year relationship as a Premier supplier, Fresenius Kabi has worked with Premier to:

  • Add products to PremierProRx private label program
  • Participate in the ProvideGx drug shortage program
  • Host plant tours and discovery days for Premier members
  • Invest significantly in U.S. manufacturing to secure future supply chain resiliency

The 2024 Trailblazer Award was presented to Fresenius Kabi on July 24, 2024, at Premier’s annual Breakthroughs Conference & Exhibition.  In 2021, Premier, Inc. recognized Fresenius Kabi with the Premier Supplier Legacy Award for Operational Excellence.
