A Fruit Tea with Denisa Chvojková

Science and sewing: how Denisa brings care and precision to everything she does

Near the village of Hořátev in the Czech Republic, Denisa Chvojková starts her day in quiet reflection. Around 5 a.m., she enjoys a peaceful moment with a warm cup of fruit tea. “I usually wake up very early, and when I go to work, I start with tea – fruit tea,” she says with a smile. It’s a calm start before the rhythm of the day begins to build.

At Fresenius Kabi, Denisa works as a laboratory professional – a role that demands precision, structure, and a steady hand. Part of her day involves preparing and analyzing samples, such as blood bags, managing their storage in climatic chambers, and documenting results. “I like working with my hands,” she says. “I prefer this over all the paperwork.” It’s a job that requires focus and care, and Denisa thrives in that environment.

But her attention to detail doesn’t end when she leaves the lab, though at home, The rhythm changes: Denisa finds balance in creativity. With two children and a dog named Fijon, her afternoons are filled with schoolwork, forest walks, and sewing projects. The latest project? “Trousers for my kids and a t-shirt for myself,” she shares. Whether she is handling lab samples or guiding fabric through a sewing machine, Denisa brings the same thoughtful precision to everything she does.

Denisa joined Fresenius Kabi five years ago after maternity leave, bringing experience from a Prague-based company that produced cancer vaccines. What keeps her motivated and getting up that early? “The collaboration in our lab is great. I enjoy working in a team and knowing what we do really matters.”

Want to know more about Denisa?

We asked her a few questions:

What does a specialist in stability studies do?

In the laboratory, I focus on how medical devices hold up over time. That means testing them under normal and extreme conditions, checking their packaging, materials, and performance to make sure they stay safe and effective throughout their life.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I think the collaboration in our laboratory is great. That makes the work fun. And I like working with my hands.
I much prefer this to just paperwork every day.

What does Committed to Life mean to you?

For me, it directly links to my work: It’s the health of the patients which we can support with our products.
I think it is important to see the patients behind the products.

What do you enjoy in your free time?

I like sewing clothes – sometimes when I have the time, I sew for my children. My last project was trousers for my kids and a t-shirt for myself! Apart from that we spend lots of time together as a family. We have a dog, Fijon, so we like walking through the forest together.
