Meropenem injection IP is indicated for treatment, in adults and children, of the following infections caused by single or multiple susceptible bacteria and as empiric therapy prior to the identification of the causative organisms:
- LowerRespiratory Tract Infections
- Urinary Tract Infections, including complicated infections
- Intra-abdominal Infections
- Gynaecological Infections
- Skin and Skin Structure Infections
- Meningitis
- Septicaemia
- Empiric treatment, including initital monotherapy, for presumed bacterial infections in hostcompromised, neutropenic patients.
Because of its broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic
and anaerobic bacteria, Meropenem injection IP is effective for the treatment of polymicrobial infections.
- Meropenem injection 500mg:
Supplied as clear 20 ml USP Type 1 glass vial with grey bromobutyl rubber closure and aluminium flip off seal. Vials are packed individually in outer carton along with pack insert.
- Meropenem injection 1000mg:
Supplied as clear 30 ml USP Type 1 glass vial with grey bromobutyl rubber closure and aluminium flip off seal. Vials are packed individually in outer carton along with pack insert.
