People and Culture

Our purpose-driven culture welcomes, unites and inspires us all

Working with a sense of purpose

At Fresenius Kabi, we know that every one of us, in every role, plays an important part in our collective success — that we each bring unique experiences and perspectives that can help us all better understand, connect with, and respond to the needs of the nation’s medical professionals and patients. But we also know that none of us alone can solve the challenges our customers face.

That’s why nurturing a culture of inclusion and collaboration — driven by our shared sense of purpose — is so important to us. It ensures that Fresenius Kabi leverages diversity of thought and is a place where we all show up with authenticity, where we all belong and thrive.  As one team, we come together with a sense of positivity and urgency to ensure a brighter, healthier future for us all.

Committed to Life

At Fresenius Kabi, being committed to life gives us a sense of purpose that flows through the work we do and the products we make to the medical professionals we support and the patients they care for.

It shapes our thinking and drives our actions — giving meaning to every role and task we take on, no matter how big or small. It reminds us of our everyday responsibility to help make advanced care more accessible to more patients across the nation. And it inspires us to find new ways to help make caregiving safer and more efficient.

Purpose Runs Deep

Because purpose runs deep in our culture, Fresenius Kabi is a different kind of place to work. We invite you to watch the videos below and hear our collective passion through the words of some our colleagues, as they work to make more moments of caring possible.

Pere Berkowitz

As a Commercial Leader, marketing one of the largest portfolios of generic injectable medicines in the U.S., Pere recognizes our responsibility, and our ability to deliver is a source of great pride.

Employee Impact Groups

Our Employee Impact Groups (EIGs) are integral to our commitment to DEI and a hallmark of Fresenius Kabi’s culture. They elevate the voices and contributions of a wide range of employees so, as one team, we incorporate diversity of thought and perspective into our collective thinking. EIGs promote inclusion, human connections, greater cultural awareness and collaboration. EIGs offer a space in which employees can grow personally and professionally through networking, hands-on experience and various learning opportunities.

EIGs raise awareness about topics relevant to a diverse workforce, and help leaders gain insight about barriers to engagement and advancement so we can improve on systems, processes and practices. EIGs also provide cultural insight on topics such as health equity, helping Fresenius Kabi build stronger connections with customers, patients and our communities.

Our six EIGs are led by employees and sponsored by executive leaders. This initiative is growing, and we expect to introduce additional EIGs in the coming months and years.

The purpose of our Voices of African Descent EIG is to raise awareness about the history, culture and experiences of employees of African heritage, including awareness about health care disparities, and to strengthen connections with Black communities. This EIG offers a space that promotes connections and collective growth and aims to accelerate DEI initiatives at Fresenius Kabi to better attract, develop and engage employees of African heritage and other underrepresented groups.

Our Women’s VOICE EIG fosters inclusion by elevating the voices and contributions of women at Fresenius Kabi. Women’s VOICE helps raise awareness about workplace barriers for women at all levels. It creates spaces in which, through real conversations about life and career challenges, women and allies develop their leadership skills, gain insight on career development, and promote a more inclusive and equitable environment for everyone.

The purpose of the Fresenius Kabi PRIDE EIG is to foster LGBTQ+ inclusion by helping educate the organization on the importance of building safe and welcoming environments for members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies. PRIDE offers a safe space in which members can connect, network and develop together. This EIG is also committed to helping Fresenius Kabi gain insight into the healthcare challenges of this community so we as an organization can better support specific needs.

Our Alliance of Asians and Pacific Islanders EIG (AAPi) celebrates the diversity of the Asian American community. Through cultural events and ongoing activity, it helps raise awareness about the wide variety of cultures, values, religions and beliefs that make up the Asian and Pacific Islander community. It also focuses on career growth, networking and community outreach. Their signature project, Cranes of Hope, has engaged employees across the organization in building a display of 1,000 origami cranes that carries a message of hope and wellbeing to patients with cancer. The first display sits on the walls of the Cancer Survivorship Center in Illinois.  View the story of this meaningful project.

іHOLA! is one of our newest EIGs, acting as a center of connection for Hispanic/Latin@ employees, promoting a greater sense of community and belonging within Fresenius Kabi. Its mission is to offer opportunities to celebrate the richness and diversity of the Hispanic community and elevate its contributions. HOLA’s activities focus on raising awareness to health equity and workplace barriers for this community, celebrating cultural diversity, networking and promoting community outreach. іHOLA!’s valuable cultural insights will help Fresenius Kabi better understand and respond to the needs of employees, customers and patients.

Our new LEADnow EIG’s mission is to empower employees who are early in their career journey by fostering connections with a network of more experienced leaders, and providing valuable resources for continuous learning, leadership skill development and strategies to launch and sustain a successful career.
