Why Do You Volunteer?

To raise awareness about volunteering, we asked our colleagues what they volunteer for and why and read below to find out what they said.

We are very proud to have so many volunteers at Fresenius Kabi UK, who give their time to make a difference in their communities.

Why Do You Volunteer?

"Volunteering is rewarding and gives me the opportunity to develop new skills, enrich my personal development and broaden my understanding of diverse perspectives." Rhianna Edmeade, Volunteer with Getaway Girls

"If these kids are going to be my future community, it's nice to play a small part in directing them towards fulfilling their potential." Kate Reilly, PTA Treasurer and Board of Governors

"My grandma relied on volunteers, and I wanted to give something back by helping our older society. I also love animals, so I volunteer at an animal charity, Cinnamon Trust." Sarah Whittaker, Cinnamon Trust Volunteer

Why Do You Volunteer?

"I do it because I love rugby, it's fun interacting with the crowd, and I get to see lots of games." Caroline Bennett, Volunteer Steward at Twickenham Stadium

"I've always been lucky to have a stable home and couldn't imagine having to move somewhere without my family." Rachel Connell, a former volunteer with Kitrinos Healthcare working with refugees

"I help coach and run the U10's rugby team my son plays in. It's great to see how happy they are when they score a try or make a great tackle." Neil Styles, U10s Rugby Coach

Why Do You Volunteer?

"Volunteer at a group that was set up to encourage members to socialise and gather to enjoy arts and crafts, bingo, and playing cards. It is one of the most rewarding volunteering jobs." Sylvia Cunningham, Volunteer with Enable

"I volunteer simply to give something back. Having the ability to encourage more people, young and not so young into regular physical activity is a privilege." Angeline Rees, Cheerleading Coach

"I foster cats that aren't doing so well in sanctuaries. I'm unable to adopt a cat currently, but I am able to help those that need it and also ensure fewer cats are out on the street." Sacha Jones, Volunteer with Cats Protection
